Mark
Somerville
Founding President
Mark may be one of the most experienced new-university builders alive. Beyond founding faculty, Dean and Provost roles at Olin (25 years), as a senior consultant- since 2007 he was chief academic consultant for Fulbright University Vietnam (now graduated its first class), he helped INSPER in Brazil launch a new engineering college, revised the bachelor's degree at TU Delft's aerospace faculty, and worked with NMITE (UK), Plaksha (India), the Woodrow Wilson Academy, and institutions in Chile, Malaysia, and beyond. Profiled in The New York Times Magazine and IEEE Spectrum; MIT PhD, Oxford MA, Rhodes Scholar; spoke at SXSW EDU 2026.
Rebecca
Holcombe
Founder
Rebecca has worked nearly every side of education there is. She began as a social studies and science teacher in rural New Hampshire, later becoming principal. She helped lead the formation of the nation’s second interstate school district, an effort that required changes to law in two states and won support from 80% of voters. She went on to direct Dartmouth's Teacher Education Program, before being appointed as Vermont's Secretary of Education by a Democratic governor in 2014, then reappointed by a Republican one. She was elected to the Vermont House of Representatives in 2022, and chose not to seek reelection to focus fully on launching Greenway. Harvard EdD in Education Leadership, Simmons MBA.
Troy
McBride
Founder
Troy is a seasoned entrepreneur and engineer whose career bridges the gap between engineering education and real-world industry practice. During his six years as a faculty member, he helped launch an ABET-accredited engineering program. He also has a track record of building and scaling mission-driven companies, including SustainX, Norwich Technologies, and now Durion. Troy holds a PhD from Dartmouth College.

Kristin Cantu
Business Manager
Kristin is a graduate of the Vermont Leadership Academy and a community-driven business leader whose work spans education, mentorship, and the arts, including serving on her local school board, founding a nonprofit, and leading a mentorship program for professional women. At Greenway, she serves as Business Manager, overseeing financial and operational strategy while advancing a more sustainable, community-connected model.
Kevin Ramos-Glew
Board of Directors
A career educator who started in the secondary school classroom then moved to higher education, Kevin joined Greenway from Dartmouth College where he served as director of enrollment planning. He also has experience in founding innovations in education.
Annick Dewald
Founding Faculty
Annick is an engineer and educator with experience spanning academia and industry, including roles at Boeing and electric aviation startup Electra. A graduate of Smith College engineering and an MIT PhD in aerospace engineering, Annick is now Founding Faculty at Greenway, where she is developing project-based and work-integrated curriculum.
Cal Thompson
Advisor
Cal Thompson (they/them) has been a service designer since 2008 in non-profits, creative studios, consultancies and for the last 6 years, at Headspace. They were the VP of Product Design and Research at Headspace for 4 years, shepherding the work of Headspace's talented and compassionate Product Design team on the Headspace app, Ebb, consumer therapy, B2B offerings, and healthcare offerings. Previously, Cal was a Design Director at Fjord/Accenture delivering human-centered and digital transformation projects.
Hannah Root
Hannah is a Middlebury College graduate with an MS in environmental science. After nearly a decade in K12 STEM teaching and curriculum design, she now works closely with the President to advance key initiatives and support the day-to-day operations of the institution.

Sela Flores
Media / Outreach
Sela Flores is a 2026 graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts MFA program in Cultural/Arts Administration. During undergraduate studies at UCLA, facilitating creative pedagogies and learner advocacy became central career priorities. Sela is working with the Greenway team to create ongoing social media dialogue between the institute and global education communities.
